I have been getting a good amount of comments lately about how simple my style is. And I really take that as a compliment. Although I love all of the bells and whistles as much as the next girl, for me, the core of style has always started with fit. I learned pretty early on that if your clothes fit well, you can wear the simplest of outfits and still look chic. So, it became my focus to discover what styles suit my body the best and that really dictated how I dress. Don’t get me wrong, accessories are crucial to an outfit as well, but nothing trumps fit.
So, this look is one that I would categorize as pretty simple. I took a basic grey dress that, in my opinion, is just as needed in your wardrobe as an LBD. I love the criss-cross design and ruching of this particular one. It’s a little on the shorter side but hey, Summer is coming! I wanted to give it a pop of color so I found this red floral kimono while at Target. It fits more like a cape so it’s light, airy and just blows in the wind. I’ve said this plenty of times before how versatile kimonos are and this one is not different. Finishing off the look with sleek brown accessories was all that it needed.

Thank you!
How is the fit on the kimono? What size did you get? Still waiting on that Poshmark account😉
The kimono is great! It has no structure so it can really fit a wide range of sizes. I’m wearing a M/L. And yes, it will eventually come lol
Absolutely beautiful in all its simplicity. I’ve had my heart set on a kimono but wasn’t sure how to style it. You’ve given me the perfect style inspiration. Thanks a bunch
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
I never thought of using a grey dress as an alternate to the LBD. I love it. Simple, stylish and classy.
Thank you Judy!
