Summer fashion is all about prints! Bold and statement prints mirror the vibrancy of the season. They allow garments to come to life and take on new and exciting forms. Part of the reason why fashion is so fun because it is constantly reinventing itself. Garments that we have come to know as staples in our wardrobes can be worn in completely different ways simply because of the print.
This season, it seems as though unconventional prints are what’s becoming popular. Garments with fruits patterns, landscapes, busy florals and more are the newest Summer fashion trends. The print in this skirt follows suit of that by combining very vibrant tropical flowers with a hint of black and white pattern. This is essentially just a pencil skirt but these elements make it much more than just your average garment.
Because the bottom half is such a statement piece, I wanted to pair it with a top that was not going to compete but only enhance. This off the shoulder ruffle top totally fit the vibe of this look. Shoulders are probably my favorite part of the body to show off in these warmer months. I just think that they are so flirty and feminine in the best ways. And of course, what would be a look of mine without a pop of color shoe?! I’ve had these pink pumps for quite some time and I am never letting them go. They never go of style and always seem to come through just when I need them.
So this season, don’t be a afraid to branch out and experiment with new and exciting prints. I know that plus size women have been told that prints are something that we should stay away from however I’m here debunk all of those myths. Try new styles and patterns and have fun with fashion!
