Summer Style…Simplified

Summer fashion is all about effortless style. The ability to grab and go at a moment’s notice and still look put together is key. Summer dresses are the perfect garments to be able to do so because they do most of the work for you. The core of the outfit lies in this one piece and all that is left for you to do is add accessories. I’ve teamed up with Simply Be to showcase a couple of my favorites from their Summer dress collection. If you are not familiar with Simply Be, they are an online retail store that carries trendy pieces for the everyday woman. Their focus is on plus size fashion however they carry a wide range from sizes 8-28. I’ve been shopping Simply Be for years and have always loved that they are consistently on -trend.

So let’s get into these dresses, shall we? The first Summer dress that I selected was a denim shirt dress. I feel like some kind of denim dress should be included in your wardrobe. You can wear them casually with sneakers or sandals, or you can dress them up a bit as I have with some brightly colored heels. The options are endless. Denim has the ability to be very versatile, allowing you to wear it just about anywhere. This shirt dress is easy to wear and comfortable which checks off the main boxes for me. An added bonus is that it comes with a belt. This denim dress isn’t very fitted so without the belt, you would lose my waist a bit. The belt is able to cinch in the smallest part of your body and serve as an accessory as well.

This second dress is a quintessential pretty Summer dress. It has all of the elements that you would want in something that was suitable for Summer style. It’s bright, colorful, playful and just darn cute. The ruffle hem is feminine and fun and the floral print just screams sunshine. I added a small belt around my waist to be able to tie in all of my accessories. However, the dress really doesn’t need much of anything to be added to it. For my shoes, I went with a gladiator type block-heel sandal that I also got from Simply Be but quite some time ago. Block heels are the perfect blend of comfort and style and they are a great option for those that can’t or would prefer not to wear heels.
