The Block is Hot

Can you believe that it is already August?! Where has the time gone? Fall is right around the corner and that’s evident by the subtle/not-so-subtle Fall fashions that have started to infiltrate stores. While I love Fall and it is one of my favorite seasons when it comes to fashion, I’m not ready yet! Things just start to come out way before it’s time in my opinion (like the fact that I saw Halloween costumes in a store the day!) It’s just the beginning of August, temperatures are still blazing so I am even thinking about rocking a moto jacket or suede or anything of the sort. Ok, rant over.

Now, let’s get into this look. This outfit is an ode to Summer and secretly a rebellion to trying to rush me through the end of the season (lol). It’s bright and colorful, just like how I like it. I stumbled upon these shorts while browsing at Macy’s and though they were so cute. I don’t own any of these types of shorts because they never seem to fit me right. However, this one has ample stretch and they had a XXL in store so I decided to try them on. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they fit and the color is just divine!

At the time, I had no idea what I was going to pair them with. I was thinking of going with something simple like a white off-the-shoulder top for instance. However, I had just gone to JcPenney recently and picked up this coral top that I liked. I was actually thinking about returning it because I didn’t know if I would get a lot of wear out it. Low and behold though, the colors went together really well! Both bright but somehow, it just works (love when that happens!)
