Ruffles hold a special place in my heart. I love how fun & flirty they are and how they can instantly perk up any outfit. Last Spring, ruffles were all the rave and they were literally everywhere. Dresses, tops and even pants had this added embellishment making it one of the top trends of the season. With this coming Spring season on the horizon, it seems as though ruffles will be making a return in new and exciting ways.
This skirt from Eloquii is a perfect example of that. The colors and the waterfall ruffles are what caught my eye. I thought that it would be one of those garments that could be worn just about anywhere from brunch, to a girls night out and even to church. Although it’s somewhat of a statement piece, it can work for a variety of different occasions by styling it accordingly. Also, an added bonus that I discovered upon trying the skirt on is that it is essentially a “no shapewear needed” type of garment. The ruffles are strategically placed to camouflage those areas where shapewear would help smooth. For that fact alone I knew this skirt was a keeper.
In keeping with the senorita vibes that I was getting from this garment, I went with a black off the shoulder top to pair it with. I thought that it complemented the skirt well while also serving as a contrast to the boldness of the color. With gold and black accessories, this look was complete!

Yes, this outfit is very Carmen, but I’m living for it! I love the whole look, it’s sexy without being too sexy. Also, I think this skirt might be right up my alley. I don’t do shapewear (I can stand the pressure on my stomach), so this skirt is right up my alley. I’m going to check it out, thanks Kristine!
Thank you Gigi!
