This is my very first blog post of the New Year and I knew that I had to put together a look that set the tone for 2018. I’ve set some pretty big goals for myself both personally and professionally and although they may be lofty, I know that mindset is half the battle. So if I think it, believe it and visualize it, I’m already on the right track. In order to make boss moves, I have to look like one and this look encompasses all that I desire to be. It’s subtle yet powerful, stylish, chic and commands the attention of those around. It’s a pantsuit that packs a punch!
I have been looking for a matching blazer/pants combination for a while and have not been successful. When I stumbled on these Harper pants from Old Navy, it dawned on me that I could make my own matching set instead of trying to buy one. I already owned a blush blazer so I ordered the pants crossing my fingers that the two would match. And they did! While not the exact same hue, they are so close that you wouldn’t be able to tell that they were purchased from two different places. A faux fur scarf just seemed like the perfect accessory to complete this ensemble and contrast the blush pink. Now that I look the part, it’s time to work on actually being the part. Let’s kill these goals in 2018!

LOVE the pink!!! This looks great on you! But, I must ask. I look around online A LOT because I’m terrible at knowing which type of top with skinny jeans and the like. 99.9% of things I see, the gal is wearing NO socks…AT ALL! What is up with that? I know the basics: no socks w/sandals, etc, but I see it w/ Oxford shoes, penny loafers, etc. it was 13 degrees here today w/ on/off snow showers. Parking lots are slushy but I did my fashion duty to SKIP the socks w/ the penny loafers. I didn’t like it LOL…AT ALL. I don’t do fashion type boots because a heel higher than a loafer WILL result in stepping sidesways on my ankle resulting in a spraign. I have no grace! I do have s pair of black shoe/boot types that are about as classy as a dead snake. So, why why WHY is nobody wearing socks?! What am I missing?!

Hi Carrie,
Thanks for your message. You are too funny! LOL I think that it’s just the style that they are looking for. Socks may throw off the outfit so they opt to not wear them (at least for pictures sake). Just my guess though. They have a lot of boots with low heels so you may want to explore that. Take care!
Happy New Year, I am loving your breakout outfit for 2018. I know this year will be a year of positive growth and reaching unbelievable heights. I look forward to a year of transforming, mind blowing fashion from you. You are already at the top with this look there is no limit for this years fashion.
Thank you so much Judy! I wish you many, many blessings in the New Year and for the love that you show to be reciprocated right back to you. Much love!
