A must have in your closet is a leather pencil skirt. Just like you should have the staples which consist of a little black dress and a great pair of skinny jeans, I’m adding leather pencil skirts to the list. Although they may not seem as versatile as the other garments I named, I can assure you they are. Leather skirts are more of a Fall item however they can be worn in different seasons. They are the perfect blend of sophistication and edge, giving them the ability to be worn for a variety of different occasions.  Dressed up with a chic top and heels or dressed down with a graphic tee or a sweater, the styling possibilities are endless. The most basic leather pencil skirt that you can have is a black one but if you want something a little out of the ordinary, you can choose a different color such as the one I’m wearing.
This raisin, dark wine tone is everything I never knew I needed. It looks expensive and is so well constructed while still being affordable. It’s stretchy so that it can conform to your shape but also supportive with a wide waistband that holds you in. I love how it pairs so well with tan, beige and brown that is so on trend for Fall. This look is super easy to put together and wear yet looks ultra chic (just how I like it). Be sure to snag yourself a quality pencil skirt! You will not regret it.

I absolutely am in love with your style, it’s so amazing and inspirational. One question I do have is what kind of body shaper/corset do you use? I have been in such for a good one for such a long time that I have come to believe that no such thing exist.
Thank you Natalie! I actually have a post on that you can find here: https://trendycurvy.com/2016/07/28/lets-talk-shapewear/ and I have an updated one coming out tomorrow so stay tuned
Thank you so much.
Ps. I apologize for the grammatical errors lol.
I like your style and look in this pencil skirt.
Thank you Rose!
Absolutely killed this look, that skirt, these colors, this outfit is so good!!
Thank you Charlene!
Stunning. What size did you do in the skirt? I’m larger than you but knowing where you are gives me a frame of reference if this will work for me 🙂 I know Melissa McCarthy is generally more roomy than some!
Thank you Kim! I’m wearing a size 2x although I could have gotten away with a 1x. You’re right Melissa McCarthy is generous with her sizing but I didn’t know how much stretch it had so I decided to order a 2. It is a stretchy material so that’s why I say now I could have done a 1x. It would have just made it a bit more snug which I prefer but overall its still a great fit. Hope that helps!
Thank you, Kristine. That does help. Sounds like this may work for me 🙂 I’m armed with a Macy’s coupon and didn’t know what to do with myself haha 🙂
Lol yassss use that Macy’s coupon girl!
You did that. I’m ordering it just as soon as I finish typing
Thank you Kimberly! Hope you love it
