Between my last post and this one, I’d say that there is a definite trend forming here. And that trend is bright colors, bold patterns and tropical prints. With Summer on the horizon, so many colorful garments are infiltrating retail stores making it extremely hard to resist. Clearly I have buckled under the pressure and have gone all in (and let me tell you, I don’t feel bad about it).
Playing up prints with solids is one of my favorite things to do when styling a look. It’s almost like color blocking since you are complementing or contrasting one with the other. Green and yellow have traditionally meshed well together so I thought pairing this palm print top with this bright yellow skirt could work. And as if I didn’t already have enough color, I decided to completely commit (refer to the above statement when I said I’ve gone all in) and finish this look off with a yellow shoe as well. Being matchy-matchy doesn’t always work but in this instance I thought it was subtle enough to blend in. Try out a bold look and take a walk on the bright side with me!
