How many times have you heard that plus size women shouldn’t wear stripes? It’s usually one of the first fashion “dont’s” that arise when it comes to dressing a plus size frame.  The theory is that stripes make you look wider, especially horizontal stripes because of the nature of the design. We all know that this is a myth and that plus size women can wear stripes just like anyone else. What I always say is that there really aren’t any fashion “dont’s”, there are only opportunities to make those trends or styles work for you.

So I decided to be living proof of turning a “don’t” into a “do” by rocking this multicolored striped skirt from Rachel Roy. I love the mixture of Winter and Spring colors in the skirt that will come in handy for the upcoming Spring season. Since the stripes are the highlight of this look, I paired it with a simple off the shoulder top and my fave nude pumps creating a cute, chic look (if I do say so myself).

So to all of the people out there that put limits on our style, its time to fall in line!
