Every Monday through Friday when you wake up in the morning, you have to ask yourself this question. Am I going to work today or am I going to werk? There’s a very distinct difference between the two. Just the slight change in the spelling dictates whether you want to blend in or stand out. Now this look isn’t for the faint of heart and certainly not for more conservative work places. However if you are able to pull it off, it would be a great way to infuse some chic style into your work wear while still looking professional.
I personally feel like it should be more acceptable to wear color at work. You spend more time at work than you do at home so you might as well be able to wear something that would brighten up the office. And this fire engine red skirt would do just that. It’s definitely a statement piece but I think pairing it with a black & white striped top helps to mute it. We can all agree that a button up blouse is the ultimate sign of professionalism so the top helps to balance out the unconventional color on the bottom. It’s the best of both worlds.
So again I ask you, are you going to work or werk? Your choice.

Kristine, thank you so much for your prayers and your offer. I am blessed that I did not suffer any loss here in Houston. May God continue to bless you because you are truly a blessing. Thanks again.

So glad to hear Judy! Take care
Ha, my best friend and I have recently been talking about working more professionally (I am in a business casual environment but if there are no client meetings we are on the far end of casual) and one of the things that we mention is how boring professional dress can look. This post (and your general blog) has given me the kick in the butt to try because clearly, you can be professional and still maintain your personal style.
You look awesome and thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much!!
