Neutral tones are a palette that will NEVER go out of style. While bright colors or darker hues tend to be more seasonal, neutral colors can literally be worn all year long. Because they are essentially plain, it makes it easier to get away with wearing them a variety of different ways. And although I love accessories and stylish details, sometimes the simplest outfits look the most put together. There is something so chic and expensive looking when mixing together these nude colors. It is the complete opposite of what you would typically think when it comes to style. In cases like this, the saying “less is more” really does apply and pay off in a big way.
This look started to form when I saw this sheer kimono online. I think that you all know by now that I love duster style kimonos and this was unlike any thing that I own. I thought that it would be a great garment to have as we start the Summer to Fall fashion transition and could add a stylish element to my looks. From there, I decided to keep the palette simple with a matching beige top and white denim pants. Lastly, I added a grey clutch for a bit of contrast between the two-tone color combination. Simple, neutral, classic!

Thank you Hannah!
Hello Beautiful Black Sista! My name is Brittany and I recently discovered your website via Pinterest. I have the app so it always sends me notifications of things that interest me, like natural hair ideas and plus size fashion. I just LOVE your neutral outfit. So I googled trendycurvy.com thinking I was about to go shopping! I’m a very honest person so I’m going to be real. At 1st I was so disappointed to see this is a blog website because it’s so many pictures of plus size women outfits on Pinterest that say plusendycurvy.com. Like I said I’m thinking it’s an online store for trendy cute plus size fashion. So I just kept reading and browsing via your blog site. I give you two high fives all the way from Indiana. I luv your site, your style, your boldness to wear the trendy styles simple and closed minded people think us plus size women shouldn’t wear. I really like what your doing like promoting self love and self worth. You know it’s a struggle for some of us plus size women to look in the mirror every day. For instance this past Saturday I was shopping for some new jeans at Forever 21. In pants I’m a size 20-20W. I really like the distressed skinny jeans but I have the shape of an apple so I try to stay away from jeans unless I can hide my lower stomach lol. That’s why I don’t own a pencil skirt because I feel like I don’t have the shape to fill it out and it don’t hide my stomach. I was in that dressing room telling myself I’ll look better if I lose some weight. I put everything back and told myself I’m not buying no more clothes until I lose weight. After discovering your website today, you had me looking at myself in a better way. Yes, I still want to do a lifestyle change but I’m telling myself I’m Big and Beautiful! I want to tell you THANK YOU for being a positive fashionista. You are beautiful and keep doing what you do! ✌
Brittany, your message truly touched me. Thank you so much for the kind words! I am so happy to hear that my posts have helped you see your own beauty just as you are. It is difficult for all of us (including me) to sometimes love ourselves so every now and then you need that reminder. It’s all about being the best version of yourself that you can be. Much love to you! ❤️
